Why You Should Only Be Wearing Sterling Silver Ring
We already talked about toxic metals , I know it is difficult to care when you are one of the lucky ones who don't get allergic reactions and the toxic ring is gorgeous, however let's remember; our skin breathes everything that touches it. This includes the new trend “plastic / acrylic rings”, and with that one none of us get any skin sensitivity reactions, but we still contaminate our bodies, our soil and our oceans.
If you were wondering, but why not non-toxic metal plated toxic metals?
Brands are getting more and more creative to raise their profit margins and most of the times you are the one paying for that cost, unfortunately not with your money. You probably have already seen products titled as Silver or Gold, but once you check the materials; you will see them listed as Stainless Steel & Brushed Gold Plated, Stainless Steel & Brushed Silver Plated · well that basically means a very thin layer of gold or silver on a blend of bunch of toxic metals, and the worst part is; that plating will wear off faster than you think, you just won’t know it as underneath will reveal the same color.
but why not gold?
Gold is personally my favorite metal. I can never tell you not to buy gold, but I can tell you when to prefer it. This is a very important information, but most of us don’t know. Silver and gold are soft metals. This means they can bend, they can move and they can get scratches ( believe me that’s a small price to pay ) · the difference is, gold is softer than silver, so it will need more proper care to have it without dents and scratches, especially for rings · since we use our hands almost all the time. If you prefer the color of gold, then you could go with micron plated sterling silver ring. Earrings, bracelets, necklaces, yell yeah solid gold! Rings, not that much.
If you love your jewelry you should take care of it, just like your new puppy, or your new plant with pink dots · that’s when it’s gonna shine the most. Don't forget; if something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. Cheaper, more durable and hard "gold" or "silver" is too good to be true.
