Every material requires different care, but there are magic rules apply to all.
· Avoid contact with detergents, harsh chemicals, soaps, hand sanitizers, oils, perfumes and sweat. Meaning; remove before cooking, doing house work, cleaning, working out. Make sure you spray your perfume, apply your moisturizers or oils before you wear your jewelry. (wait till absorption )
· Avoid direct sunlight. As you probably know, sunlight degrades everything. Most of all, things that are natural. Avoid direct sunlight for long periods of time. Do not wear your jewelry when sunbathing - not a great tan line anyways.
· Avoid swimming while you wear your precious metals. You are most likely to swim at the sea or a pool. The ocean has salt, the pool has chlorine, both not good for your jewelry.
· Don’t let it get scratched. When you are not wearing it, you can’t store it deep down in your bag, or in a bag with bunch of other jewelry. You can always get your jewelry polished or replaced, but why not just store it in an individual soft pouch and not deal with that?
· You might think it’s okay to rest your jewelry on a wooden table, or a metal surface; well, it is not. Wooden tables have chemicals on them which might affect the color of your jewelry, while metal surface is known to scratch things.
Sterling Silver.
· Remove your jewelry before any activity that will get your precious metals wet.
( Showering, cleaning , washing hands , swimming , working out ... )
· Always apply perfumes, oils, creams and any care products before wearing your jewelry to avoid chemicals to damage the color of your pieces.
· Silver is a soft metal so it’s possible for closures of your jewelry to open up / soften up in time, however it’s an easy fix. The closures could be fixed by moving the closure parts close to each other using your hand or tweezers.
To Clean: Polish gently with a silver cloth. When not worn, store in a dry place without direct sunlight.
